Outfit reapeats

Who has never lived a dilemma about repeating or not a garment? Wondering if anyone will notice, what they will think and more a lot of silly issues. The truth is that repeating clothing is a matter of conscience.

Dressing is an act of expression. Be our personality, humor, social expectation. It also expresses the relationship we have with our bodies and our self-esteem. Whoever woke up more outgoing and bet on a different look? Or did you have an important interview, and spent a long time choosing something that reflects seriousness and competence? The clothes transmit it! Complex, right?

And in a moment of so much consumerism, it is dangerous to overdo the number of pieces. We buy everything that appears in front of us and we barely use it. We do not have the slightest idea of the fabric that makes up that clothing, who produces it or how it is made. We stash the wardrobe with marks that have nothing to do with what we believe. Worse, we get the idea that repeating a piece of clothing is ugly.

Amidst so many gorgeous dresses at the 2018 Academy Awards (I love it too much and have a post right here below several incredible models), an actress came to prominence for a reason: she repeated the same dress on 3 occasions, including at the Oscars. Tiffany Haddish, an American comedian, said she would make her money worth since, she said, she had spent $ 4,000 in a beautiful white Alexander McQueen dress. Fair, right?

Fortunately, we are beginning to re-signify what we wear. Each piece must have a set value for the wearer, you know? It’s cool to build a story with them. It’s nice to have memories with them. It’s nice to understand that they get a message!

I hope this post creates a reflection for us. This is the first step to achieving something greater up front.

Kisses
