The locations of “Call Me by Your Name”

Anyone who saw “Call me by your name” movie is obsessed with the locations where it was recorded.

The movie was set in a sunny and lively Italy. The characters are very outdoors, take river baths and eat peaches and apricots picket from the trees. A summer dream!

The set is so important for the development of the film that Luca Guadagnino, director, chose very carefully where the movie would be shot. And I think he hit it right! The house of the Perlmans, where almost everything happens, overflows with imperfection and intimacy. Although, it`s clear that nothing has to do with money. The richness of the place is cultural. Every detail of the decoration, every piece of furniture and object gives the complete certainty that those people belong to that place, you know?

The property is known as Villa Albergoni and was built in the 17th century! Yes, 17th century! The director had professional help to furnish and make some adjustments to match with the book that inspired the movie. After all, the story takes place in the early 1980’s in a north Italy. If you want, the property is for sale for 1,700.00 euros (see the link here). “Cheap,” right?.

The film also shows the small town of Crema and the roads that lead there. The paths are made by bicycle and the landscape is of sun and trees. Squares, fountains, streams and small businesses complete the look.

The truth is that we get out of the movie in a mood to move to that place. Something in the countryside of Italy makes my heart bit! It is impossible not to fall in love!

Am I the only one dreaming of an Italian summer? Of course not?

    Love
