My experience at the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro

Would it be possible to be in an oasis within a huge city like Rio de Janeiro? At the Grand Hyatt it is so!

Part of the Hyatt group and rated 5 stars, the central idea of the hotel is to be an urban resort. That is, have plenty of outdoor space, recreation area with pools for the whole family, restaurants, private beach area, activities for children, spa, gym and, with a golden key, a beautiful view of a full environmental reserve of green.

Upon check-in, we were very well attended and the process was quite simple. We just filled out our chips with the basic data and were released into the room. The attendant explained the operation of the hotel, everything that was available, schedules and extensions for contact if we needed it.

The suite was a love affair. The decor is beautiful, modern and functional. It has enough lighting, spacious closet, mini bar, television with cable channels, air conditioning for the carioca heat and a balcony with an incredible view of the sea. Pity the sun does not show up much during our hehehe stay. It also has a workstation with plugs, internet and telephone if you need it.

I do not know about you, but I highly value a functional bathroom and the Grand Hyatt is like this! With 3 divisions, the shower is separated from the toilet which in turn are separated from the sink and bathtub. All of these rooms generate privacy and functionality for guests, you know? While a person bathes another can brush their teeth, for example. The hotel offers hair dryers, Granado amenities and a make-up mirror. Perfect!

Breakfast is served daily in the Tano. The buffet is quite full! Divided into seasons, it has a huge variety of fruits, yogurts, cold meats, eggs, pancakes, waffles and more a lot of yummy things. In addition to the traditional breads, they had cakes, jellies, croissants and gluten-free options. For those who like it, an employee makes green juice and tapioca at the time. Coated coffee and milk are served at the table and a machine prepares espresso, cappuccino and other hot drinks.

The Shiso, oriental restaurant, offers lunch and dinner at the hotel. On Sundays, an incredible brunch is served from 12:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A full post on it will come soon here on the blog! Cantô is a more informal bar and restaurant. His menu has various snacks, sandwiches and grills plus drinks and desserts. On Saturdays, a full feijoada is served! Remembering that you do not have to be a guest to know the restaurants.

The pool area is well contested and features sun loungers, towels and bar service. On the beach, exclusive chairs and umbrellas are at guests’ disposal. Well-suited for enjoying Rio’s sunshine. For a good massage or body / facial treatment, the Atiaia spa has several relaxation and aesthetic options.

My only criticism is regarding the price of the mini bar. A soda costs 12 reais! I thought it exaggerated! I do not remember other hotels of the same standard charging so expensive!

My experience at the Hyatt was to die for. We rest a lot, enjoy the leisure areas and, especially, feel very well taken care of, you know? It was everything as it should be in a 5-star hotel. Can`t wait to go back!

Enjoy the tips, huh?

Love,

Li
