Trip: Big Hotel X Boutique Hotel

    .

Anyone who has researched hotels for a trip should have noticed the types of styles that exist. We don`t even know where to start! Some we have known the name since always, but others are new and we don`t pay attention.

After a few trips, I realized that there are basically two types of hotels: big hotels and boutique hotels.

    I’ll explain everything!

    .

    Big hotels

These are the hotels we’ve heard since forever! Hilton, Othon, and Sheraton are some examples. They are always present in the most important and visited cities in the world.

The hotels are huge with many rooms, they have 2 or more restaurants, 24-hour room service, laundry, lots of staff, spa, pool and everything else.

The cool thing about a big hotel is that it will probably maintain a good standard accommodation and service regardless of the season and the city you are in. It’s a “comfort zone” And I’m not just talking about the more expensive ones, the Ibis, for example, is cheap and keeps the standard around the world.

No time to search for hotels on your next trip? Bet on a big hotel!

    .

    Boutique Hotels

The boutique hotel is completely different. They are smaller, some with six rooms (yes, six), personalized services and everything is thought in the smallest details.

In these hotels, you feel at home! There isn`t that crowded lobby with a thousand events happening at the same time. Rather, the idea is to maintain the privacy and intimacy of the place at any cost. And no wonder if some of the staff know your name.

The decor is always a charm, you know? Many use design pieces to decorate the rooms and each room has a different detail from the other. Well styled!

Because they are small, it is common for the ingredients in the kitchen to be local. This brings the guest closer to the region where he is staying and values the small producers. Depending on the place you can schedule a visit to one of them and see how everything works. Cool huh?

But, boutique hotels don’t have the same number of services as an average hotel, and schedules are also often reduced; in this case, it cool to list the goals of your trip to make the best choice. Some aren`t receptive to children and so may not be the best option for a family trip.

    .

I LOVE boutique hotels. I have always enjoyed cozy and small ambiance. Also, it is very rare for me to use the services of a hotel. First, it’s expensive; secondly, that I have never felt that I need them, but I quite understand that some traveler profiles, such as business executives, need them.

There is no better or worse profile. There is, yes, the one that supports your needs at this moment. In the end, I’ve had great experiences in both cases and every trip is unique!

    *CAUTION

Many small hotels call themselves “boutique”, but it leaves a lot to be desired. And worse, they charge super expensive for this! The truth is that there are still no clear criteria for a hotel to have this rating, so it is always a good idea to search and read the feedback of those who have gone to not fall into a trap.

    Love,
